Ken Hughes is one of the world's leading consumer & shopper behaviouralists who blends his vast expertise in consumer psychology, social anthropology, behavioural economics and neuromarketing to answer the question to which he has dedicated most of his career: Why do shoppers buy and how can we make them buy more?


Ken is acknowledged as one of the most respected thought leaders on shopper marketing and shopper centricity, omnichannel & digital strategy alongside retail futurology. He is a part-time professor in consumer behaviour and a board member & strategic advisor to many organisations on the future of consumerism and shopper trends.


Voted best speaker at most conferences he has the honour of being invited to attend, it is for his international career as a keynote speaker he is most famous. His keynote speeches deliver thought disrupting and inspiring content in a captivating and highly energetic manner, all served with a generous helping of Irish wit.

Trends in savoury snacks and nuts and their impact on the savoury snacks sector

Throughout her career Marcia has worked as a thought leader and trend consultant helping to develop new products and marketing platforms.
Marcia has been with Mintel since 2000 and as part of her current role she publishes regular insight pieces on her specialist categories, including savoury snacks. She has also been active in quality initiatives, including developing the structure for Mintel’s Global Annual Reviews and training analysts on research and analysis methodologies.

Ciara has been at the forefront of cutting edge consumer insight since she began her research career in 2005. Ciara specializes in unearthing new ways of connecting with consumers and finding insights to create great tasting food and beverages that delight and nourish today’s consumer. At Kerry, developing unique research approaches is necessary to understand consumers’ needs and wants across every food and beverage category in every region around the world. For this reason, Ciara has a unique viewpoint on consumer behavior, how it is changing and where the white space opportunities for innovation lie.

He is an expert in ever changing consumer and shopping behaviours, explaining how and why these trends influence and impact both manufactures and retailers. He closely watches and describes as the grocers battle competitively for market share each month. Fraser’s opinions are regularly sought by industry, broadcast media, national newspapers and the business press.

State of the (European) savoury snacks industry 2017


Pinar is Euromonitor International’s senior bakery and snacks expert within its global food team. With a background in economics, Pinar uses her knowledge to provide strategic insight on a range of topics including consumer trends, corporate strategies and product innovation across 100 countries worldwide. Pinar has a keen interest in food security, nutrition and cross-cultural consumer behaviour. She is frequently consulted by global media, including Financial Times, WSJ and about the latest trends in food and commodities. Pinar is an experienced public speaker and has been a keynote speaker at international events, including GFCC (Antalya), IAOM (Cape Town), FIE (Paris) and SNACKEX (Istanbul).
Before joining Euromonitor, Pinar worked as an Economist in the United Nations and as a Researcher in London School of Economics. She holds a degree in Economics from McGill University and a master’s in Development Economics from School of Oriental and African Studies in London.

 

Dr David Zaruk

Biting into your reputation: How to deal with activist fear campaigns

David is a risk governance analyst at Risk Perception Management and an assistant professor in communications at Odisee University College and Université Saint-Louis in Brussels. He sits on the European Commission Horizon 2020 ethics panel for research, and frequently serves as an expert, rapporteur, ethics adviser or evaluator for various European-funded research projects on science and society issues.

 

Sebastiaan Schreijen, Senior Analyst Consumer Foods (FAR), Rabobank

The impact of digital, online grocery on snack producers

Almost ten years ago Sebastiaan has joined RaboResearch Food & Agribusiness, a 90-man strong research team that covers every aspect of the F&A value chain. His focus has always been on the last steps in the chain: processors, food retail and foodservice. Over the years he has seen hundreds of food-companies and has been co-authoring leading reports on a wide variety of themes such as private label, online food retail, strategic sourcing and blurring. Sebastiaan holds a degree in financial economics and spent 10 years working as a sell-side equity analyst at another bank before joining Rabobank.
